I’m Joanna McGough, MS, PA (ASCP) — a yoga teacher with a background in pathology and anatomy, and a deep passion for helping others find strength and ease in their bodies.
I specialize in yoga for chronic pain, beginners, and athletes, offering both in-person classes in Southampton, PA and virtual sessions for students near and far. My approach is compassionate and adaptable — designed to meet you exactly where you are, whether you’re looking to move with more freedom, rebuild balance and mobility, or simply reconnect with yourself.
My journey hasn’t been linear. Overcoming my own physical and mental obstacles has taught me how powerful yoga can be as a tool for healing and self-awareness. That experience allows me to connect with my students on a deeper level and help them discover practical, sustainable solutions through mindful movement.
Before becoming a yoga teacher, I earned my BS in Bioscience Technologies (2010) from Thomas Jefferson University and my MS, PA (ASCP) in Pathology and Anatomy (2014) from Drexel University College of Medicine. In the early mornings, you’ll find me in the lab — dissecting the human body for surgical pathology — a practice that continuously deepens my appreciation for the incredible design of the human form.
Yoga bridges my two worlds: the scientific and the spiritual, the analytical and the intuitive. It’s my mission to share that balance with every student I meet.
